Easter is right around the corner, and no matter what you do to celebrate today, whether it be looking for the easter bunny or searching for eggs, chances are you will spend the day with people you love. Many gather around during holidays like this to celebrate each other’s company and spend time together, usually over a shared meal or drink. If you are hosting this year and need some easy pairings that please the whole crowd, we’ve got you covered.
For the kids, a classic Easter usually entails an easter egg hunt or decorating party, followed shortly by a sugar coma. To offset the inevitable sugar crash, we suggest adding in some healthy ingredients to the meal before the hunt, like hard boiled “easter” eggs for breakfast, or some delicious egg-shaped fruits and veggies (think grapes, brussels sprouts, you get the idea.) Before sending them off, make sure they have their baskets ready and their eyes on the prize. While the kids play, the adults deserve some fun too…
For the adults, something springy and fun to serve at brunch or lunch that’s sure to be a party favorite is a delicious twist on a classic cocktail: the mimosa.
Strawberry Lavender Mimosa
- 4 oz Strawberry Lavender soda mixer
- 5 oz champagne or prosecco
- Top with fresh strawberries and dried lavender
This cocktail is so simple yet delicious, it's almost too good to be true. But trust me when I say this is a guaranteed fan favorite. Pair this with a fresh salad (recipe below) and you have a light and refreshing snack that will please the whole family this Easter.
Easter Pear Salad
- Fresh mixed greens
- 1 pear, sliced
- 2 tablespoons crumbled goat cheese
- 1 tablespoon candied walnuts
