Behind the Bar: Root Elixirs Bartender Feature Series

This Week’s Feature: Kendrah Booth

The Rolling Stallion, Coeur d'Alene, ID

For the month of August, we here at Root Elixirs wanted to take a look behind the scenes - or really, behind the bar. While our mixers are great for at-home mixing, the elevated taste of Root Elixirs has also made its way to some pretty amazing bars and restaurants across the country. Bringing fresh, quality ingredients to craft cocktails is just what we do here at Root Elixirs. And the people who bring those delicious cocktails to life, well, they deserve some praise.

Kendrah Booth, owner and operator of The Rolling Stallion, a mobile bar located in beautiful Coeur d'Alene, has been in the industry for a long time, and found her passion almost accidentally. The Rolling Stallion was created based on a love of dive bars and craft cocktails, and Kendrah and her husband put those ideas together to create a craft experience on wheels - so people can enjoy a craft cocktail dive with upscale drinks and a relaxed vibe.

Q: What gives you inspiration when creating cocktails?

A: Interesting and unexpected ingredients. We love to travel and try off-kilter things and that is where a lot of our inspiration comes from - most specifically a trip we took to Cambodia in 2019.

Q: What is your favorite drink?

A: Fav at home drink (this is ever-changing) : Empress gin, homemade sour (lemon + lime + simple) muddled cucumber, a dash of St Germaine and topped with hop refresher.

Q: What's your favorite bar you've ever had a drink at & why?

A: Cease & Desist Book Club in Spokane, WA. They serve true craft cocktails, but the bartenders are always really personable and make you feel welcome. When a bartender remembers my name and fav drink right way and makes me feel like a regular; thats the way to my heart.

Q: Lastly, what is the recipe that you use Root Elixirs in?

A: THE PASSIFLORA Gin (Plymouth or ROKU are my go-to) + smashed raspberry & jalapenos, passion fruit & pineapple root elixirs, squeeze of fresh lemon & lime, topped with Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher.
